Barcelona were forced to battle back from a goal down versus Athletic Bilbao to earn a 1-1 draw against the Basque side on Saturday evening.
Inigo Martinez had given Athletic the lead with a glancing header from a corner, but Barca would find a hero in the form of Memphis Depay, who equalised with a blistering left-footed strike into the roof of the net from the left-hand side of the box.
Unfortunately for him, he would pass up a magical opportunity for the win just moments later, though.
Though the Blaugrana ultimately dropped points, they would find themselves top of the table before the remaining Matchday Two fixtures on Sunday.
Valencia and Mallorca join Barcelona at the top on four points, with Los Che drawing 1-1 with Granada following a late strike from Carles Soler, and the islanders winning 1-0 away at Alaves.
Both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will have the opportunity to make it two wins out of two on Sunday when they take on Levante and Elche respectively.
